Residents acquire a Water Wiser designation after attending a Water Wiser workshop, and this designation is valid for five years. To maintain this designation, residents are required to take a renewal course prior to expiration. The designation follows the resident (not the address), and the designation is valid even if the resident moves within Town limits. Customers will be notified when designations are expiring.
The Water Wiser placard should be easily visible from the front of the residence. If this placard becomes lost or damaged, please email us to obtain a replacement.
For new plants to establish a healthy root system, newly planted vegetation requires water more frequently than the every-third-day schedule allows. Residents can apply for a watering exemption for watering to occur on any day necessary while the exemption is in effect. Watering still needs to occur before 8 a.m. or after 8 p.m.
Violations may be appealed in writing within 10 days of the mailing date on the violation. You may submit the appeal by sending an email to waterconservation@CRgov.com. Please provide your account number and the reason why you feel the violation was issued in error. While a determination is being made, please pay any associated surcharges by the billing due date to avoid late charges. If the appeal is approved, the related surcharge will be credited to the water billing account within the subsequent billing cycle. Note that a photograph is typically taken of the violation and is used in evaluation of the appeal.
