Water Use
Typically, a Castle Rock resident uses about 117 gallons of water per capita daily (2020 data). Our goal is to reduce that usage to an average of 100 gallons of water per capita daily. Conserving water is financially beneficial so we don’t have to purchase more water in the future and environmentally beneficial as we pump less water from the aquifers.
If each person in Castle Rock conserved an additional one gallon of water per day, the community would save more than 25 million gallons of water in a year. Castle Rock Water has tips to conserve more than one gallon of water a day on average. Imagine if every resident followed every tip. Let’s start with you!
Install WaterSense products
About half of the water used by Castle Rock Water customers is used indoors. One of the easiest ways to make the biggest impact is to install appliances, including faucets, showerheads and toilets, bearing the WaterSense label. These products perform as well as, or better, than their less efficient counterparts and are at least 20% more water efficient.
